We understand that some schools have experienced issues with Apple Classroom at the start of the school year. After collaborating with Apple, we’ve identified a fix. These steps are universal across both mac and iOS though the screenshots reflect the Mac
Log out from the Apple ID
If you have data keep a copy | |
Check for iOS and Mac OS updates in the

| Once update is complete (or if not needed) RESTART THE MACHINE | |
Sign back into the Apple ID

Once signed in the user might be a window that says Some iCloud Data Isn’t Syncing.
USER MUST CLICK RESUME DATA SYNC | |
Then allow approximately 15-20 minutes for the data sync. Once the data has synced the user will see their Apple Classroom data.

Users should also verify on student devices that there is a roster of classes on the device downloaded. Do so by going to settings/classroom and verify that a list of classes appears. If the device says no classes then sign the user out and back in to download their class roster.
Below is an example of a device that did not download the roster data. Note the No Classes
By Signing out and back in and allowing approx. 5 minutes the classes now reflect
